Are we even surprised?

Yes, we all have those moments when we say something and then regret it later. But US President Donald Trump, he has plenty! Well, we are not so sure about the regretting part. We can rely on President Donald Trump for giving some of the most outrageous statements ever.

At the third Presidential debate in 2016, Trump quoted, “Nobody respects women more than me.” Minutes later he was heard contradicting his own statement when he said, “Such a nasty woman.”

Earlier this year Trump also pulled the U.S out of Paris Climate Change Agreement and again supported his actions in G20.

Well, all that is old news. Let’s just find out more about his most recent comment.

President Trump was heard saying several eyebrow-raising things in an interview with the Wall Street Journal earlier this week.  Although Trump made several striking statements during the

interview, his surprise on how some Asian countries are large definitely was the highlight.

President Trump

The Journal asked Trump what he felt was a “reasonable” corporate tax rate. Trump’s answer was a borderline inexplicable ramble about his conversations with several Asian leaders.

Trump hardly addressed the question that was asked, instead expressed surprise at the population of Indonesia and Malaysia.

President Trump said he had an amazing relationship with Asian countries and their leaders like him a lot.

Trump also told the Journal that he quizzes the leaders of Asian countries during the head of the state phone calls.

His statement:

“So I’ll call, like, major ‚ major countries, and I’ll be dealing with the prime minister or the president. And I’ll say, how are you doing? Oh, don’t know, don’t know, not well, Mr President, not well. I said, well, what’s the problem?

Oh, GDP 9 percent, not well. And I’m saying to myself, here we are at like 1 percent, dying, and they’re at 9 percent and they’re unhappy. So, you know, and these are like countries, you know, fairly large, like 300 million people. You know, a lot of people say – they say, well, but the United States is large. And then you call places like Malaysia, Indonesia, and you say, you know, how many people do you have? And it’s pretty amazing how many people they have.”

Oh, wait! He did say something about the reasonable corporate tax rate as well.

“We’re going for 15 (percent).”
